The RSO is a professional orchestra drawing musicians from the tri-state area as well as accomplished students from the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music and Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
American Landscapes
Celebrating the rich musical diversity of the Western Hemisphere, this program begins in Chile with Carlos Zamora’s rhythmic and energetic “Sikuris.” Moving northward, the RSO will perform the iconic “Appalachian Spring Suite” by Aaron Copland, one of the most recognized American composers of the 20th century. This composition draws inspiration from the vastness of the American landscape and rural life. The program concludes with an audience favorite, Dvořák’s “New World Symphony,” written while he lived in the United States. It’s a perfect prelude to another natural wonder: the total solar eclipse.
Music Director: Andrés Lopera.
